Not when you grow up… not when you are “older” or more mature or the house is paid off and the kids are gone. Who do you want to be right now… in this moment?
When you take a breath what feeling do you get in your chest? Is it tight and shallow? Is it quick and shuddery? Or is it freeing and calming, soothing and relaxing?
The first indicates a knowing that you aren’t being honest with yourself, deep, deep down in you core or your soul or whatever it is you like to call your knowing centre. it is the breath of fear, of anxiety, of being unsure. The rapid breath from running or chasing, the tightness from constriction of the muscles in anxiety. What is the truth that you are running from? Sit with this for a moment… Write down your answer on a piece of paper, read the answer than fold the paper up and put it somewhere in a drawer until tomorrow. Tomorrow when you are breathing read your yesterday answer and see if it has changed or altered or if your breathing is different after the acknowledgement.

The breath that is deep and easy and calm indicates a soul at peace, a soul that has a centre of truth and knowledge. (now who wouldn’t want that?) This soul and it may be your soul (lucky you) has found its path or its true North. Does that mean you stop searching now? No, the journey of strength and wisdom does continue on to a beautiful end.
Getting back to the original question “Who do you want to be?” right now in this moment. Find a quiet moment in your day (if you have little ones you may need to tell them you are in a timeout) three minutes that is all to focus on your peace. Allow the silence from within to resonate to whisper the answers of the soul to you. It may not happen immediately, make this a daily practice (yes daily practice) practice does not make perfect it makes better.
