I’m not sure about you, but I’m a reader? A collector of knowledge, I love books. It doesn’t really matter the genre or the Author. If I am attracted by a good cover or blurb, I’m in. I have been known to read a whole book in one sitting, neglecting everything around me. The children, the husband and the housework, I become totally engrossed in the story or the topic I am learning about.
There have been times in this journey through life where books have quite literally saved my sanity. Here is a list of my current top 5, the ones that have totally transformed the way I see the world and see myself. The authors who have transformed my way of thinking about myself and my abilities. These books came into my life at the perfect time in the last 12 months. I hope by sharing them with you they may boost you the way they boosted me.
BOOK 1

I discovered the amazingness of Gabi Bernstein about 2 years ago, when I saw her on Super Soul Sunday on the Own Network. She talks about Abundance creation and believing in the power of manifestation and believing in yourself. The Universe Has Your Back is filled with anecdotes and exercises for you to implement in your own life. It was definitely a God send – her latest book Judgement Detox arrived last week and I can’t wait to sink my teeth into it.
Book 2

Lewis Howes is new to my stable of influencers and I listen to his podcast (also named “the school of greatness”) religiously. His book’s have inspired me to go after my dreams forsaking all negativity.
Book 3

Ekhart Tolle hit my radar about ten years ago when he appeared on Oprah’s book list. His take on how the energy of the universe helps us to heal and build our own world is inspirational and thought provoking. It took me a while to really sink my teeth into this type of writing, but since I have allowed it to flow I have noticed a real transformation in the way I see my contribution to the world around me.
Book 4

Mel Robbins is a genius – The 5 second rule changed my life, almost eliminated procrastination from my vocabulary and taught me how to tone down my anxiety to get things done. Simply counting backwards from five and then taking action IMMEDIATELY on that thing you need to do breaks your fight or flight response and literally changes your mindset. I managed to make this website and send it live by implementing this rule with every new decision I had to make.
Book 5

The incomparable Louise Hay – sadly she passed away last year leaving a legacy of “self help” books and courses in her wake. Heal your body came into my life at a time when I was first confirmed to being in peri-menopause. It helped me understand how my mind and thinking effected my body and hormone production. By taking care of my mind I take care of my body. A true gem that I refer back to always.
These are only five of the books that have meaning in my life, I would love to hear what yours are, please comment below and let me know.
Namaste
