The Beauty of Autumn: Transitions and Tranquility

Written by:

Every season has a purpose, however my favourite season has to be Autumn (or Fall, for my American readers). Everything is slowing down and plants are preparing for Winter. It is a time for reflection and change, the temperature begins to drop from the harshness of the Australian Summer and a soft haze develops in the atmosphere.

The nights are longer allowing for more rest time and a chance to recuperate from the busy of Summer fun. The world slows down, and people begin to prepare for the hibernation of Winter.

I love the changing colour of leaves on the trees, it brings a change in mood and a softness in our interactions with each other. I feel calmer and more peaceful, introspective and thoughtful. Autumn is when I do most of my yearly planning and make big decisions without pressure.

I am more creative in Autumn and write with more fluidity and depth. My garden plans become ambitious and somewhat more difficult to achieve in reality. A girl can dream afterall, and Autumn provides the longer evenings and peaceful atmosphere for my dreams to manifest freely.

I would love to hear from you, what is your favourite season?

What a beautiful picture you’ve painted.

I love winter. For me, it’s a more active time.

I love the cold days, snuggling up in my dressing gown with a hot chocolate whilst reading.

Winter is a productive time for crafts, especially sewing and crocheting.
