What happens when we do all the work. We sit in our pain and emotions and feel each and every one. We find forgiveness for ourselves and for those we believe wronged us in some way. What comes next in the journey?

For we must be fundamentally changed, when we align our lives to our values and live in our authentic self. What do we call ourselves? How do we show up as our true selves in a public that knows and remembers our past selves?

Recreating our inner self is the next step in the journey. It could be a lonely journey if we choose to do all the work by ourselves. By inviting a trusted person or even persons into our new life it makes the journey a little less painful and a little less lonely.

For me, faith in God and continued prayer has been a constant companion in my growth and re-creation. I have found great strength and courage through prayer and a deepening of my belief. “Be still and know that I am God” is a favourite reminder to take time for myself and find answers in and through prayer. By sitting in my pain the truth is revealed to me and I am able to clear the confusion surrounding my emotions.

I only attempt to share my personal journey here on this blog, I don’t wish to preach or say that prayer is the only way to help solve your hurt. However it has been a true saving grace for me, not the only tool I have used however, but one of the best ways for me to reach my deepest hurts and mend my broken heart.

I have talked about the many tools I have employed in my journey to wellness, journalling, meditation, counselling, hypnosis and now prayer. I hope that through my openness you are guided and supported to try any or all of them out for yourself.

I invite you to reach out and let me know if you any of these have been useful to you, or even share something new that has been successful for you.
