Where am I at?

I said in my last post that I would try to blog more… well let’s see, is once a month an effort I’m happy with? The short answer is NO.

This week I am inspired by a friend of mine, we will call her Jane, she is giving up smoking and drinking, starting an exercise program, beginning a course to be a medical receptionist and trying new hobbies.  She is going from 0- 100 and actually doing it.  I make plans and say things like “tomorrow I will start”, well tomorrow is now today and here I sit, blogging my little heart out.

I am facing a challenge – not unlike giving up anything “bad”. My challenge runs deeper, a challenge to change the “not so nice” about me.  Instead of jumping to conclusions, I will sit and think before speaking.

Instead of rushing to a judgement, I will consider a persons actual circumstance – not based on my personal circumstance.

Instead of yelling at the kids from the other room, I will get up and walk to the room they are in and ask politely for them to complete x,y or z.

Instead of being harsh to my husband, I will consider that he has worked hard and needs a “break”, before I rush in with my many requests and demands of his time.

You see folks, my challenge is more demanding and requires a lot of work, it also requires a lot of soul searching and adjusting.

Starting today I will blog or diarise at least one small or big success of my day or week.  I will focus on the positive and the happy times.

Today I am grateful for a peaceful house, I can study, blog, write and converse without interruption.

I am also grateful for my husband, yes I said it and it’s in writing.  He has faults as do I, however he is a good man, he works hard, he provides for us.

I am grateful for my children, they challenge how I see the world, they challenge how I see myself and they bring me great joy.

See you next time
